Coach Ben Howze

Ben Howze owner/coach, played professionally from 1988-1994 with the Montreal Expos & Chicago Cubs. His coaching career includes stints with Decatur High School, The Paideia School, Our Lady Of Mercy & Pace Academy. Coach Ben resides in Ellenwood, GA with his wife Renee and children Ben Jr., Jamie & Jordan.

Coach Jamar Parker

Jamar Parker is a seasoned Coach with over 20 years of coaching experience. He comes from a background of baseball players, having two older brothers who paved the way for his passion for the game. After excelling as an outfielder for McNair HS, Jamar earned a scholarship to Alabama State University where he was a 4yr starter & team captain for 3 yrs.

After graduating from ASU, Coach Parker briefly coached at Stone Mountain HS. Once his Son came of age, Jamar coached him on the rec ball circuit and that’s where he met Coach Ben Howze. Once coach Ben started Showcase Baseball, Jamar joined Showcase as a coach & trainer. Coach Parker holds several titles and championships with Showcase.

Coach Jacob Oglesby

Born and raised in Atlanta, Coach Jacob Oglesby is a graduate of Saint John’s University with a B.S. in sports management. He played 3 years of varsity baseball at North Atlanta HS and is currently coaching at Cristo Rey Jesuit HS.

Coach Tyrus Asberry

A native Atlantan, Coach Tyrus Asberry was introduced to the game of Baseball at 3 yrs old. After graduating from North Atlanta HS where he played 2 years of varsity baseball, Coach Asberry continued his career at Lemoyne-Owen College in Memphis, TN.

Coach Kelvin Wimbish

Coach Wimbish played four years of baseball at Albany State University and majored in Health & Human Performance. He won 2016 Freshman of the year in the SIAC, 2016 Gold Glove award, 2017 SIAC All-Tournament Team & was a member of the 2018 SIAC Baseball Championship Team. Kelvin left Albany State with a .290 career batting average.

Coach Robert Lampkin

Coach Robert has been coaching Baseball for over 30 years, including Savannah State University from 1994-2000. He joined the Showcase family in 2016 & won coach of the year in 2019.

Coach Marcus Mays

Marcus Mays grew up playing baseball at Gresham Park where he won 3 world titles at the 7,8 and 9. During his years at McNair HS Coach Mays was Pitcher Of The Year in 1992, won MVP of the Georgia North vs. South Allstar Game & was selected to play on team Georgia in 1992.

After graduating HS Coach Mays was selected in the 10th round of the 1992 draft by the LA Dodgers and then traded to the Florida Marlins. In 1997 he won the World Series as a member of the Marlins. Due to injury May’s retired as a Marlins 1999. 

Coach Mays has been the pitching coach at Redan HS since 2006.

Coach JR Daniely

Atlanta born & raised, Coach JR Daniely started his baseball at the tender age of 3yrs old in Gresham Park. He played his HS ball at McNair where they were a perennial state title contender. Coach JR was named 1st Team All County in 1997.

With over 15 years of coaching experience, Coach JR has help develop some of the most talented ball players in the Atlanta area. He’s also been the lead trainer for GA Showcase Baseball over the past 5 years. With a focus on fundamentals Coach JR helps his athletes see that small changes produce big results.
